Why am I running? I am running for the Georgia State House Seat #163 because I want to represent my Hometown district. I want to be a role model for the hundreds of children I work with on a daily basis. I want them to see that there are other possibilities in life other than sports as way of success.
I am running for the Georgia State House Seat #163 because I have served my Hometown as an educator. I have taught middle and high school students at an alternative school for designated felons. There, I have seen the effects of the faulty educational system in Georgia. I am running for the Georgia State House Seat #163, because I have served my Hometown as a Law Enforcement officer. I served as a Public Housing Enforcement officer. I witnessed the crime that takes place in the projects and in lower class communities. I also served as a School Resource Officer for the Savannah Chatham County Public School System. I am running for the Georgia State House seat #163 because I served my country in the United States Navy and the United Naval Reserves. As a veteran, I understand the importance of federal aid to those who have served this country. |
Education I have had a firsthand experience with dismal education system here in Georgia.
First, as an educator teaching social studies to High school and Middle school students at an alternative school. Second, as a School Resource officer, I have had an opportunity view the criminal side of education. Finally, as a Parent I would rate education very low here in Georgia. Even though my daughter has done well, there are many students failing. These students are failing from many factors. Of which all cannot be blamed on Education. Therefore I will fight to end “No Child left behind” legislation. I will fight to increase Pay for Teachers and school support staff. I will fight to end the punitive testing system. |
Military As a Veteran of United States Navy and Reserves, I was fortunate to have served close to home. I thank God I did not received any injuries. However, many veterans are coming home handicapped not only physically, but also mentally. The Pentagon has proposed cuts in benefits to these veterans. I want to go to congress to find a way to reduce the growing numbers of homeless veterans. I want to see veteran rights and benefits improved. Finally, I will oppose the pay reduction for our Men and Women in Uniform.

I want to go to Atlanta to be a part of the solution. As Robert F. Kennedy stated “Some men see things as they are, and ask why. I dream of things that never were, and ask why not?”
I ask why not a better environment? Why not a world class Public education system? Why not a lower crime rate statewide?
All can be achieved if we help first the least among us.
